My name is Jose Vasquez and I am happy to serve my community as the K-8 STEM Program Manager within Porterville Unified School District. This is my 12th year in education.
I am proud to say that I am a University of California, Davis alumni. I received my B.A. in chicano studies with a minor in education in 2006. I graduated from the teaching credential program at UC Davis in 2007 and hold a clear multiple subject teaching credential authorized with ELL and BCLAD. In 2008, I continued going to school and received a Masters of Arts in education at the University of California, Davis. I have taught 3rd, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 11th grade within my teaching experience. Teaching has been very enjoyable and rewarding for me. I have a strong passion to provide every student with 21st century skills to be college and career ready. This past year, I completed my preliminary administrative credential within Tulare County Office of Education. Education to me has been something that I highly value and growing within my profession is something I strive for every day.
I am married to a wonderful wife Jennifer Vasquez, who is a special education teacher within Tulare County Office Of Education. We have two kids, Xavier Jesus Vasquez and Jalissa Ann Vasquez. We are enjoying being parents and traveling with our children. On my spare time I love to golf, snowboard, and travel with my family. I look forward to a great school year!
